Frequently Asked Questions

Below are answers to some of the questions you might have. If there are any items not covered, please feel free to contact me

Why use a Pet Sitter?

Some animals may need more care and attention than boarding kennels or home boarding can provide, and a pet sitter can be a great alternative. A pet sitter  will maintain your daily schedule and routine and many pets will find this less stressful than a kennel. It also helps with separation anxiety in anxious or nervous dogs. Many clients with multi-dog households find a pet sitter provides a better continuity of care for their animals. There is an added benefit that your house is occupied while you are away, providing additional security.

Why should I choose you?

I have experience of many different breeds of dogs with varying temperaments and handling requirements and health issues that need to be managed. I have owned snakes and reptiles as well as dogs, guinea pigs, gerbils and hamsters. I have regularly cared for cats and many other animals. I am experienced with nervous and sensitive dogs as well as high energy breeds. I have owned and cared for older dogs and those with complex medical needs. I offer a personalised service to ensure your home and pets are cared for exactly how you would like and I will ensure the house and gardens are left clean and tidy . I am organised, professional and discrete and will provide clear honest and  proactive communication to give you complete peace of mind while you are away.

How long will my pets be left alone each day?

Each sit is tailored to a client's specific needs and requests. I only do one sit at a time and will never need to leave to walk another dog, or drop in to check another client, so your pets will have my undivided attention for the duration of my stay.

Do I need to provide your food and beverages?

No, I will bring all my own food and drink with me.

Will you keep me updated while I am away?

Of course! I will happily send you updates as regularly as you would like them, whether that is daily, or not at all.

Can you give medication?

Yes, any medication will need to be left with the instructions. This will all be discussed before the sit

What happens if my pets become ill while I am away?

In the unfortunate event that one of the animals in my care becomes unwell, I will inform you immediately and will arrange for the animal to be seen by your vet.

Would you water my plants and garden?

I would be happy to care for any house or garden plants for the duration of my stay, as long as this is noted on the booking form.

Do you charge extra for bank holidays/ Christmas?

There is no additional charge for bank holidays, but there is an additional charge of £100 for a sit that extends over Christmas and/or New Year.
